The Kelham Island Series
Kelham island, located in the centre of Sheffield is home to some of the city’s oldest industrial history. Sheffield, the steel city, is bursting full of nods to its history. The charm of walking around Kelham is you never know what interesting thing you might stumble across. Nowadays the old signage still remains from its industrial past, merged with an abundance of bars and eateries. With so much to see (and draw) my Sheffield collection of illustrations would not be complete without showcasing some of Kelham’s beauty in this 9 part series. Perfect on its own or paired with another piece, I hope this artwork brings a piece of Kelham into your home.
The Fat Cat Pub, Kelham
Nestled in Kelham island is the beautiful Fat Cat pub, with its beautiful architecture and artwork featured outside. Once a pub called ‘The Alma’ it became The Fat Cat back in 1981, and the Kelham island brewery was built in the beer garden in 1990. So, for a taste of Kelham, or a treat for the eyes, the Fat Cat is a hot spot to visit.
